  • 1 piece yellow onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 1/2 cup half and half
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • black pepper ground
  • 2 teaspoons cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the cooking oil in a small cooking pot.
  2. Add the prosciutto or bacon. Cook until crisp.
  3. Add the onions. Cook until soft.
  4. Add the potato. Cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Pour in the water and cream-style corn. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 to 18 minutes.
  6. Add the half and half, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl. Top with cheese.
