Pork Belly Asado
Braised pork belly with soy sauce and star anise

- 3 lbs pork belly
- 1 knorr pork cube
- 1/4 cup banana ketchup
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 8 cloves garlic minced
- 1 onion minced
- 2 star anise
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cups water
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
Instructions

- Combine pork belly, ketchup, soy sauce, and garlic. Mix well. Marinate overnight.
- Heat oil in a pot. Saute onion until it softens.
- Add marinated pork. Saute until it browns.
- Pour water into the pan. Let it boil.
- Add Knorr Pork cube and star anise. Cover and continue cooking for 1 hour.
- Add brown sugar and butter. Stir.
- Make a slurry by combining cornstarch with ¼ cup water. Mix well. Pour the mixture into the pot. Cook until the sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and ground black pepper.
- Serve with rice. Share and enjoy!
